Jenne
qualified in Jerusalem with
a diploma in Occupational
Therapy. She
has added an advanced
diploma in Occupational
Therapy in Neuro Sciences
from Wits. A post grad
remedial diploma from RAU,
sensory integration,
therapeutic listening and
various “out of the box”
interests have motivated her
to explore the absolute
miracle of creation that is
the human being. Her
personal experience of
dyslexia, dyspraxia and
attention deficits have
taught her that without
labels, life is much
smoother but without help /
intervention the climb is so
very hard.
Over the past year, working
at the practice, Gerda has
rediscovered the essence of
OT - to be able to improve
people's functioning in
their daily lives. She has
come to the awareness that
every person's behavior
tells a story about who they
are, how they think, what
their needs are and the
amazing effects the correct
response to these ‘silent
words’ can have. After
completing her studies and
community service year, her
interest in human
development has encouraged
her in furthering her
studies in the field of
Sensory Integration this
year. She believes that by
‘addressing’ every person’s
‘silent words’ we can become
excited about even the
smallest changes. Then only,
will we be able to
appreciate and grasp the
greatness of the human
creation.
Gillian is a graduate from
the University of
Witwatersrand. After
completing her 4 year BSc
Degree she enjoyed her
community service at Sizwe
Tropical Disease Hospital.
Here she gained experience
in treating people with
multi- drug resistant (MDR-
TB) and extreme drug
resistant tuberculosis (XDR-
TB). She helped develop and
set up the Occupational
Therapy Paediatric
Department at the hospital.
She thoroughly enjoyed
working and developing a
relationship with the
children; as their stay at
the hospital was at least 6
months. This has given her
the foundation for
developing therapeutic
relationships and diverse
skills for this wonderful
new experience.
After completing her studies
at the University of
Pretoria and her community
service year at Helen Joseph
Hospital, Megan’s interest
in the treatment of people
experiencing developmental
gaps, lead her to join the
Results OT practice. She has
been fascinated by the
miracle process of human
development and the
influence that environments,
emotions and just general
‘life’ have on a person’s
functioning. For her,
occupational therapy is
summed up in the following
statement ‘OTs put the FUN
into FUNctional!’ Through
realising the effect of
empowering people with
skills in order to overcome
their difficulties, Megan
discovered the amazing value
of OT. Megan plans on
entering the post graduate
Sensory Integration course
and ultimately focusing on
early intervention and
education.
